Q. Where can I find information about the Davis community and off-campus living?

  • UC Davis – City of Davis:
    A UC Davis run site, dedicated to providing information for students new to the city of Davis.
  • Aggie Compass:
    General information about housing resources in the Davis area, including emergency shelter, transitional housing, housing listings, free legal services, and housing organizations. For general information about basic needs resources, link to the Aggie Compass home page here: 
  • ASUCD Community Housing Listing:
    Information on off-campus housing listings. This service is offered to UC Davis students and other Davis community members through The Associated Students, UC Davis (ASUCD).

Q. How do students get to campus?

  • UC Davis TAPS:
    For the many students who commute to campus by car, Transportation Services sells parking permits and provides parking lot maps. They also offer services for cyclists, including bicycle education programs and tours of bike paths on campus.
  • Amtrak:
    Located at 840 Second Street, Amtrak is a great option for travel to Oakland, Richmond, Downtown Sacramento and beyond.
  • UniTrans – City of Davis:
    Unitrans provides public transportation service to the entire city of Davis with 48 buses on 18 routes, carrying over 4 million passengers/year (over 22,000 on a typical day). Buses run every weekday from 7am-11pm, and the weekend from 9am-6pm. Anyone can ride Unitrans for $1.25 one-way fare, and many types of prepaid discounted tickets and passes are available. UCD Undergraduate students, who can show a valid undergrad ID in lieu of a cash fare, have unlimited access because they pay a portion of their quarterly ASUCD fee to Unitrans.   • Yolobus:
    Find bus routes, search schedules, and purchase tickets for the Yolobus system. Services are available from/to Davis and other Yolo County locations and downtown Sacramento:

  • UC Davis ASUCD Coffee House:
    The Coffee House offers a number of options for food on campus, including pizza, Tex-Mex, sandwiches, bagels, and a daily-rotating selection of dishes from the Cooks Line.
